Who reads the Atlas?
Four questions · every one optional · fully anonymous
The one thing this site cannot compute from its corpus is you. Nineteen years of Hacker News are measured and verified here — but who reads the measurements, how you found them, and what you wish they did are only knowable if you say so.
The survey is four optional multiple-choice-and-a-textbox questions. It stores answers only — no name, no email, no account, no network identifiers — through the same audited relay as the suggestion form, and responses are deleted after 180 days. What it learns gets summarized (in aggregate only) on the About page.
Why it exists
Independent research into data-site audiences came back nearly empty: nobody publishes who actually reads corpus almanacs like this one. Rather than guess at personas, the Atlas asks directly — and designs for the spread of answers.
Every question can be skipped. Free-form text can identify you if you include identifying details, so please avoid them. See Privacy.
